18. Paint (Remaining Interior)

 

A workman applies a second coat of paint to the door frame.

A workman applies a second coat of paint to the door frame.   This step is usually delayed until the house is almost completed since many of the door frames may need to be touched up after large appliances are brought into the house.

 

The painter applies a final coat to the crown molding.

This workman is getting ready to apply border paper under the crown molding in the kitchen. First, as much of the texture as possible is scraped off of the walls, and then plaster is applied to help smooth the wall surface (shown above).

Please note the blue tape on the walls in the above picture.

Please note the blue tape on the walls in the above picture.   This is a special tape  for painters and will stick to the walls for several days yet may be removed from the walls without damaging the paint.  The tape in the above picture was placed on the walls during a final walk-through, and indicate the parts of the walls that need to be repainted or improved before the owners purchase the house.
